The horror continues........Its almost a week now that my lil one's not eating well.
I had heard from a lot of people that babies health gets affected while they are teething and I think I am experiencing just the same :(
I feel that his weight has reduced, have not checked yet.But surely he's going leaner day by day.
My lil one was born on his 37th week weighing only 2.41 kgs only , so I guess I am always going to worry about his weight...I find myself surfing on tips about how to increase his weight, improve his appetite and health.
Some useful tips that I found and am experimenting with are:
Giving him high calorie food like dried apricots , raisins , banana , avocados, egg yolk.
Adding butter , cheese or ghee to his meals along with some follow on milk.
Avoiding low calorie fruits and veggies.
Also considering giving him some multivitamins.
Last week was also a gathering of old friends where all the 3 Dec born kids met each other..shall illustrate more on the Dec babies in a later post.
It was much fun except for the part that I was a bit worked up with my baby not eating :(
I also came to know of teething gels there and even got an extra one that my friend had, used it but am not able to make out if it helps my baby or not.He keeps biting and nibbling on any and everything, infact he bit me hard while I was feeding him today :(:(
I did try to explain him that he shouldn't be biting mumma...the week ahead will tell how much he understood!!!
My lil one's has started with brushing his teeth and the credit goes to his Dad, please read it as this daily chore has been smartly delegated to his father :D:D:D
A tiny toothbrush for his tiny teeth..I love holding his toothbrush... infact it looks so cute kept next to ours:)
Cherished moment of the week : My sweetie pie gave me a kiss for the first time on my cheeks.
Hi Archi,
ReplyDeleteHow is he doing now? Is he eating any better? Have you heard of Baby led weaning? We tried it with Alicia and we would actively recommend it to anyone.. You just do finger food from the start.. No purees. It means they are on milk longer and its only when they are around 9-10 months, they really start eating things.. till then they are playing with the food you give them.. but you leave it entirely to them to eat.. so you dont force them to eat at all.. We found it worked very well. I dont need to try and force her to eat now.. and I dont need to feed her myself. she eats by herself most of the time.. of course there are still times when she refuses to eat anything. but we still dont force her.. we skip it and offer food a while later..
luv,
Ani
